An important difference between plant cells and animal cells is that the cell membranes of the plant cells are surrounded by a layer composed mainly of cellulose, namely the cell wall. Therefore, the structure must be drawn when drawing plant cells. Since there is no detailed description of cell walls in the middle school biology textbooks, students often cannot accurately identify cell walls when they identify relevant illustrations in biological textbooks (such as Fig. 3 and Fig. 13 in the textbooks for high school textbooks). In the position, it is more difficult for the students to draw the structure of the cell wall when drawing on their own. These are all related to students’ failure to understand this structure well.
