《天工开物》一书,是明末宋应星(江西奉新人)所著。这是我国科学技术史上一部重要著作,其中记载了许多有关我国古代工农业生产技术方面的巨大成就,曾被认为是一部“百科全书”。该书“舟车第九卷”则比较全面、系统地介绍了我国古代(特别是明代)造船技术的面貌。今天读来,使我们对我国古代造船技术发展历史,有更深入的了解,从而为它的巨大成就感到鼓舞。尤其可贵的是,作者发扬了法家坚持前进的革新精神,冲破了儒家长期以来鄙视和压制科学技术发展的思想束缚以及种种障碍,为我们留下了记录着我国劳动人民在科学技术方面巨大贡献的宝贵资料。作者那种坚持调查研究的唯物观点和实事求是的工作作风,也是那些皓首穷经的儒生根本无法做到的。
“Heavenly Creations” a book, is the Ming and Qing Song Yingxing (Jiangxi Fengxin). This is an important book in the history of science and technology in our country. It contains many great achievements concerning the ancient industrial and agricultural production techniques in our country and was once considered as an “encyclopedia.” The book “Boat Nine” is a more comprehensive and systematic introduction of ancient China (especially the Ming Dynasty) shipbuilding technology. Reading today gives us a deep understanding of the history of the development of ancient shipbuilding in our country and is therefore encouraged by its tremendous achievements. What is particularly valuable is that the author carried forward the innovative spirit of the legalists to go ahead and broke the ideological bondage and obstacles that the Confucianists have long despised and suppressed the development of science and technology and left us with a record of the tremendous contributions made by our working people in science and technology Valuable information. The author’s insistence on the materialist viewpoint of investigation and study and the working style of seeking truth from facts are simply impossible to do by those Confucianism students who are extremely poor.
