1989年的欧洲机床博览会(EMO)上,德国和瑞土的许多著名制造厂商都推出了树脂混凝土床身的车床,而且,多年来一直采用水泥混凝土床身的Georg-Fischer公司也采用了树脂混凝土。 由于树脂混凝土具有优良的减振性能,可延长刀具的使用寿命,可获得良好的几何形状精度,对于小型精密零件的加工,这种性能是极为重要的。机床床身用的树脂混凝土采用天然石料细粒为骨料,合成树脂(不饱和聚酯树脂,环氧树脂,丙烯酸树脂)为粘接剂,进行混合,注入模型制成。在骨料的种类、粒径和充填率方面,各公司都有其自己的特点。Mineralit的物理机械性能与铸铁的比较见下表。
