According to the “Regulations of the Ministry of Health’s Functions, Internal Organizations, and Staffing Provisions” issued by the State Council in June 1998, the Ministry of Health has no more than 225 administrative departments. There is no functional department (bureau, hall) within the Ministry of Health. The main responsibilities of the functional divisions (bureaus and bureaus) are as follows: The general office of the Ministry of Assistance of the General Office organizes comprehensive policy research, draws up major policies for health work, is responsible for the overall coordination of government affairs, and formulates various work systems for the ministries and agencies.
