The European Space Agency issued a communique on the 9th that said Envisat, the environmental observation satellite operated by the agency for 10 years, formally “retired.” ESA has lost contact with the satellite on 8 April this year and has been trying to re-establish the link and therefore has to declare that the satellite’s decommissioning ESA team believes that satellite failures could be caused by two reasons: first, the power Loss of regulator, resulting in telemetry and remote command interruption; Second, the short circuit leads to safe mode, but abnormalities occur during restart. Although the possibility of reactivating the satellite is minimal, in the next two months the investigation team will still try to establish contact with it and look for the cause of the malfunction.
