Faced with a budget deficit of up to 1.7 trillion U.S. dollars, President Obama proposed to increase the spectrum license fee to wireless operators in order to increase treasury revenue. The Obama administration’s proposal is only briefly listed in the new 2009 and 2010 budgets proposed in late February.
