张宗炳教授,浙江杭县人,中国著名昆虫毒理学家、昆虫生理生化学家,一九一四年七月十七日生于上海市,一九八八年一月十日,在北京病逝,享年七十三岁。张宗炳先生一九三四年毕业于燕京大学生物学系,一九三六年赴美留学,一九三八年获康乃尔大学哲学博士学位。一九三八年回国后,先后任东吴大学、南通大学、燕京大学、北京大学医学院、北京师范大学等校教授。一九五○年起任北京大学教授。一九八四年赴西德参加第十七届国际昆虫学会议。
Professor Zhang Zongbing, a native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, a famous Chinese insect toxicologist and insect biochemist, was born in Shanghai on July 17, 1914 and passed away on January 10, 1988 in Beijing. Seventy-three years old. Mr. Zhang Zongbing graduated from the Department of Biology, Yenching University in 1934 and went to the United States to study in the United States in 1936. He received his PhD in philosophy from Cornell University in 1938. After returning to China in 1938, he successively served as professor of Soochow University, Nantong University, Yanjing University, Peking University School of Medicine and Beijing Normal University. He served as Professor of Peking University in 1950. He went to West Germany to attend the 17th International Entomology Conference in 1984.
