为增进阿拉伯国家和法国在文化、科技方面的联系,加深彼此在语言、历史、社会现实方面的交流,法国和一些阿拉伯国家于1980年开始,共同筹建一所研究机构,定名为阿拉伯世界研究所。该建筑采用1981年全法设计竞赛获奖方案,建筑师让·路维尔(Jean Nouvel)比尔·索西亚(Pierre Soria)。1980年开始筹建,拟建地点在巴黎费德哈松地区,1981年9月重新选址,位于巴黎圣—吉曼大道和塞纳河圣—伯尔纳堤岸交汇处。1983年底动工,1987年4月落成,6月正式向公众开放。
In order to enhance the links between Arab countries and France in culture and science and technology, and deepen mutual exchanges in language, history, and social reality, France and some Arab countries began in 1980 and jointly established a research institute named the Arab World Institute. . The building uses the award winning program of the 1981 All-Academy Design Competition, architect Jean Nouvel (Pierre Soria). It was planned to start construction in 1980. The proposed site will be located in the district of Federhaesund in Paris. It will be relocated in September 1981. It will be located at the confluence of Saint-Jean Avenue in Paris and Saint-Bernault in Seine. The construction started at the end of 1983 and was completed in April 1987. It was formally opened to the public in June.
