早在2005年瑞安市集云实验学校建校之初,学校分析周边特点及自身特色,提出将国际象棋作为学校特色建校的突破口。随后,该校制订了周密可行的国际象棋教育活动方案,开展了丰富多样的国际象棋教育活动。1.逐步推行《国际象棋》校本课程。2006年初,学校就成立了以校长为首的国际象棋校本课程开发领导小组,经过半年的时间成功研发出具有实践价值的《国际象棋》校本课程。2006年下半年,学校开始了在一年级开展每班一周一节的国际象棋进课堂活动,并逐年推广,普及国际象棋活动,至今已实施整四年,共有1300多名学生接受了国际象棋教育。2007年学校被授予“温州市国际象棋少儿培训基地”称号。
