抗战时期,中国画画家要忍受双倍的痛苦煎熬:一方面,他们满怀颠沛流离的亡国之痛;另一方面,面对空前的民族命运的大搏击,国画家在蓬勃而兴救亡艺术运动中倍感冷落,甚而横遭指责。因此慷慨激昂的艺术批评文字与相对冷清的抗战题材艺术创作,成为很长一段时期抗战中的中国画画坛的尴尬现实。
During the war of resistance against Japan, Chinese painters had to endure double suffering: on the one hand, they were full of the pain of falling from their own destiny; on the other hand, in the face of unprecedented fierce fighting of national destiny, Sense, even accused. Therefore, the impassioned criticism of the art and the comparatively deserted creation of anti-Japanese themes have become the awkward reality of the Chinese painting and calligraphy in the war of resistance against Japan for a long period of time.
