为解决CrWMn、Cr12型冷模具钢等因强韧性低造成的模具溃刃、断裂、早期失效的问题,我校机械工程二系金材教研室孙培祯教授等于1986年开始,经过两年的努力,研制出一种新型冷模具钢“高强韧低合金冷模具钢”6CrNiMnSiMoV(简称GD钢),1988年已在全国电子、机械、邮电、轻工、航天等部门几十家工厂试用,仅14个使用厂和一个生产厂的统计,总计效益超过500万元。
