In order to learn Daqing ideological and political work experience, China National Petroleum Pipeline Administration organized some comrades on the ground inspected the activities of self-education of the masses in Daqing. After investigation and study, we have realized the main characteristics of the self-education of the people in Daqing, namely, the ideological problems directed at the masses in deep levels, the development of the masses’ active spirit in education, the adoption of the forms loved by the masses, and the creation of an atmosphere in which the masses are pleased and satisfied. First, what is the main content of education aimed at the deep-seated ideological problems of the masses? Is it a matter of avoiding or minimizing the difficulty of refuge or of facing the deep-seated ideological problems of the masses? This is a problem to be solved first in order to improve the self-education of the masses. Due to the peaceful evolution of the international hostile forces, the setbacks in the socialist movement in East Europe and the ideological trend of liberalization of the domestic bourgeoisie, the deep-seated ideological problems of the masses after the 1989 political turmoil mainly consisted of the belief in the socialist system and the leadership of the party Trust problem.
