1991年12月6~13日,由中国林科院林业所主持的五项“七五”国家科技攻关专题在京通过了鉴定。 毛乌素沙地立地分类评价和适地适树的研究由朱灵盖副研究员主持,9单位协作完成。首次建立起具有实用价值的多极立地分类系统;编制了毛乌素沙地立地质量数量化表;明确提出了乔灌结合,以灌木为主的草、林、农复合生态系统原则,对沙区开发具有重要的指导意义,编制了榆林芹河多彩色立地类型典型图,为造林规划设计、林种区划和经营管理提供了依据。该项研究成果已在生产中用于治沙规划31.3万公顷,其中2.5万公顷已进行了造林,直接经济效益140多万元。本成果在国内同类沙地的研究中居领先地位,达到国际先进水平。
