据统计,截至2007年底,我国的老年人口已达1.53亿,老龄化速度还将继续加快。因此,发展老年教育、办好老年大学(学校),是应对人口老龄化挑战,落实“六个老有”工作目标的必然要求,各级党委、政府和社会各有关部门对此越来越重视。近年来,在普通高校兴办老年大学,已成为拓展、创新老年教育工作的一种有益探索。高校拥有优质的教育资源、优秀的师资队伍,以及先进、成熟的办学与管理经验,在发展老年教育方面具有得天独厚的优势。南京航空航天大学利用自身资源优势创办老年大学的做法,颇有借鉴作用。希望更多的高等院校向社会老人敞开大门,为实现学习型社会提供更广阔的平台,为我国的终身教育事业担当起一份责任。我刊将陆续登载高校创办老年大学、发展老年教育事业的经验文章,欢迎踊跃来稿。
