Originated from the Songhua River in Changbaishan Tianchi on the border between China and the DPRK, meandering westward and pouring a piece of fertile land into Nenjiang near Fuyu County in Jilin Province before it finally flows into Heilongjiang. The unique calcareous soil here produces more than two million tons of soybeans and corn for the country each year, thus obtaining “the best granary in the world”
