Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein that is formed by the non-covalent association of alpha and beta subunits. Under normal circumstances, HCG is secreted by gestational trophoblast cells, measurable in the blood and urine of pregnant women and trophoblastic tumor patients, and can be measured free form of HCGα or β subunit, the amount of HCG secretion accounted for 0.5 to 30 %. The β-core fragment is the HCG-β subunit that has lost its carboxyl terminal, including the 6th to 40th amino acids and the 55th to 92th amino acids in the β-peptide chain, and the two amino acid sequences are disulfide bonded.
