1995年冬,四川省文物管理局局长梁旭仲收到一封来自美国的信:“我的名字叫倪密(Mimi),是美国华盛顿州西雅图市艺术博物馆的馆长。我对中国历史和中国文化非常感兴趣,比如四川的乐山大佛、都江堰、武侯祠、杜甫草堂等等。特别是三星堆出土的文物,其精美绝伦造型、神秘莫测的文化内涵,更是深深地吸引了我。但遗憾的是,我一直无缘一饱眼福。此次冒昧地给您写信,是想与贵省在文化方面进一步加强合作与交流……”
