张掖境内的黑河,自古以来就是一条非常有名的河流。黑河在古代又称弱水。关于弱水,《辞海》中是这样解释的:古时许多浅而湍急的河流,古人认为是由于水羸弱而不能载舟,因此把这样的河流称之为弱水。因此在古书中如《山海经》、《十洲记》等都记载了许多并非同一河流而相同名称的弱水。这样的缘故,后来文学中逐渐用弱水来泛指险而遥远的河流,比较有名的是苏轼的《金山妙高台》中有句:“蓬莱不可到,弱水三万里。”《红楼梦》中
Heihe River in Zhangye, since ancient times is a very famous river. Heihe, also known as weak water in ancient times.
