课外活动是在课堂教学之外,由学校组织指导或由校外教育机关组织指导的,用以补充课堂教学,实现教育方针要求的一种教育活动,是根据受教育者的需要和自己的努力以及教育教学的需要,在教育者的直接或间接指导下,来实现教育目的的一种活动。课外活动不仅能加深、巩固和扩大课堂上所学到的间接知识,而且能不断地获得新的知识。受教育者可以把在课堂上获得的知识运用于实际,从而加深对知识理解。在已获知识的基础上,进行实际操作,并能不断地发现新的知识,掌握新的技能。内容丰富多彩、形式多种多样的课外活动
