余少年时代即喜写作,及长,又嗜绘事。山东艺专读书期间,于画学、史论两端勤习,以为乐事。1978年,考取中央美术学院美术史系研究生班,从导师王琦先生研修美术理论,从系主任金维诺先生悟治学之道,又得李树声先生补授中国现代美术史课,走上史论研究正途,终将写作、画画两事合而为一,成为“写画”之人,此天命也。余自1981年起于中国美术馆事研究业务。该馆以中国近现代尤其“五四”以来之美术为研究、陈列之重点,从而也规定了
