Recently, the WHO released the World Health Report 1996 entitled “Controlling Diseases and Promoting Development”. The focus is on the control of infectious diseases. The report warns that if some developing countries are only satisfied with the status quo and do not take concrete actions to prevent and control such diseases, a global crisis is imminent.
