泰国番石榴与普通番石榴一样,同属于桃金娘科番石榴属,为热带亚热带果树。树干多分枝,主干不甚端直,新梢为四棱形,叶对生,椭圆形,叶背主侧脉凸出。花为两性花,花萼不规则,花瓣4～5枚,白色,雄蕊较多,花丝细长,雌蕊子房下位。在热带地区一年四季均能生长结果,亚热带地区只有春、夏、秋能生长。
