A Study on Online Autonomous ESL Learning

For many years, college English(ESL) teaching has always been teacher-centered and the students are passive learners who are asked to do many drills in classes but unable to use them in the real world. The learner-centered online autonomous learning, with principles of learner autonomy, collaborative learning, sheds light on the reforms of college English(ESL) teaching. The thesis begins with the theory of online autonomous learning, and then details teaching processes of online autonomous learning course based on it. By a study of online autonomous learning at Zhejiang Agriculture Business College, the author gets the conclusion that online autonomous learning is more effective than the traditional approach.
