蕃茄(Lycopersicum esculentum Mill)是我省夏菜主要种类之一。随着国民经济的发展和人民生活水平的提高,消费者对蕃茄的要求是数量多、质量好、供应期长;种植者则要求在不增加种植面积、投资和劳力的条件下增产、增收见效益。解决这一矛盾的最有效途径就是不断培育出丰产、质优、抗病的早、中、晚熟蕃茄新品种。然而近些年来我省生产上栽培早熟品种“青岛早红”因品质差、果形果色不好逐渐被淘汰,而“早粉二号”因种性退化、果脐大、易裂果、商品果率下降、产量产值低而导致种植面积聚减。由于缺少较好的早熟品种至使早蕃茄种植面积逐年减少,严重地影响了市场供应。为此只有尽快地选育出优良的早熟品种才能更
