Objective To understand the health of radiation workers in an oil field. Methods According to the inspection items stipulated in “Technical Specifications of Occupational Health Monitoring for Radiation Workers”, clinical and laboratory examination methods were used to conduct occupational health examination on 1 035 radiological staff in an oil field and a comprehensive analysis of occupational health examination results. Results The detection rates of various abnormalities were: blood pressure 18.0%, electrocardiogram 17.6%, abdominal ultrasonography 52.6%, ophthalmology 68.3%, white blood cells 9.4%, red blood cells 19.2%, hemoglobin 28.3%, platelets 4.2%, urine 30.0% Liver function 18.9%, renal function 39.7%; thyroid function 12.7%, abnormal blood glucose 26.5%. According to the length of service, the differences of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, platelets, urine, liver function, renal function, blood pressure, ophthalmology and abdominal ultrasound were statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions Long-term exposure to low doses will have some impact on the health of radiation workers in oil fields. The relevant requirements of the “Radiation Workers Health Standards” and “Technical Specifications for Occupational Health Monitoring of Radiation Workers” should be strictly implemented to ensure the occupational status of radiation workers Health and safety.
