在清代中期的畫壇上,新羅山人華喦是一個才華横溢、天份極高的傑出畫家,作品清新俊逸,生趣盎然,富於詩意。他無論山水、花鳥、人物,樣樣俱精,可謂全才。《天山積雪图》是他優秀的人物畫代表作品之一。《天山積雪圖》創作於乾隆二十年(1755年)春,是華喦的晚年之作。画中描繪天山脚下一個身披大紅斗篷、藏掖寶劍的單身旅客,陪伴他的祇有一匹雙峯老駝。經過長時間的跋涉,這位可能是軍人的旅客也許覺得總坐着有些累了,便下地牽着駱駝緩緩行進。天空作鉛灰色,沉寂落寞。道路、山巒,被皚皚的白雪覆蓋着,分不清深淺高低。四野曠蕩,道路漫漫,不知何處可以找到避風躲雪的
