“经济决定论”是第二国际的理论家们对历史唯物主义的庸俗解读,将经济因素视为唯一起决定作用的因素,忽视了社会历史发展诸要素之间的联系,忽视了社会历史发展中人的存在,造成一系列的问题,是一种机械唯物主义,会演化成宿命论。社会历史本就是自觉的人的活动的展开,是主体和客体辩证作用的结果。只有把社会发展各因素当做一个整体,把人也纳入其中,才能破除经济因素和非经济因素,历史主体和历史客体的绝对对立。
