潍坊市治旧称潍县,素有藏古传古之风,金石之学绵延已久。溯源滥觞,于其周近宋代则有赵明诚李清照伉俪合著《金石录》;明清鼎革之际著名印学大家周亮工任潍邑宰,罹清军围城之役,其不避矢镞炮火,亲率乡绅民众浴血城头,固守三月,遂使清兵无功而退,至此潍县则免受像“嘉定三屠”“扬州十日”“上虞被兵记”之惨烈,而城池保完,宗庙典籍在焉,金石学脉绳绳绵绵。
