In order to give full play to the advantages of non-ferrous metal resources in our country and accelerate the development of the non-ferrous metal industry, the State Council decided to set up the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation. April 4, 1983 in Beijing held a grand establishment of the General Assembly. Comrade Fang Yi, member of the Central Political Bureau and former State Councilor, attended the meeting and made an important speech. The conference was presided over by Lin Ze-sheng, deputy party secretary and vice chairman of the General Assembly.
