After 30 years of rapid economic development in Hong Kong, Hong Kong people’s living standards have greatly improved. Most people buy cars by themselves is not a problem. However, there are two factors that make Hong Kong people less interested in owning a car. First, public transport in Hong Kong is very convenient. The population of 6 million people means that there are 11,000 buses, 160 double-decker trains, 18,000 taxis, nearly 100 ferries, public hiking cable cars, and convenient underground and above-ground railways. In short, as long as they do not live in a few particularly remote places, citizens can easily travel everywhere.
