今天这个会,主要是弘扬我们汉字的无穷伟大的威力,为二十一世纪,中华民族能在世界民族之林得到我们应有的地位的一次会议。我祝贺这次会议能产生巨大的影响。 我并不是搞文字学的,我跟文字学发生关系是因为我受了气。我曾经参加过一个国际会议。这次会议上有人公开说,“汉字是影响你们现代化的。”那是1979年,我们国家刚刚提出现代化的口号,号召全民去努力。同时他也说:“你们这个文字应该改为拼音文字,只有拼音文字才能救你们。因为你们的文字是无法进入计算机的。”“今后计算机是社会的信息机构,是脑袋。”那么我们就要永远关在门外。甚至有人说:“你们的文字进入计算机要靠我们。”靠他们,靠某某的什么公司。等他们发明出办法来才卖给我们。所以会后我一回来就四面奔波,成立了一个“中文信息学会”。我就不相信,我们国家的文化文字三千年了,还要叫三百年这样国家的人来帮我们,这伤了我们的自尊心。这个学会成立十年了,我们已经解决了这个问题,而且解决得比英文还好。
