岳飞和秦桧的是非,是历史上的一椿公案,一直到现在还没有弄明白。现在有人把这个历史问题重新提出,正式要求大家展开讨论,是有它相当意义的;为了要正确地估价岳飞这个历史人物,那么就须要重新看一看秦桧。从宋朝到而今,因为种种的原因,从各个角落出发,差不多大家都一致认定秦桧是一个大奸大恶的人物;但也有一少部分人,可以说是别有用心吧!故意制造翻案文章,替他人辩白——说什么这种措施是有其苦衷;是欲了国家事;是身在局外的易为空言,身在局中的难措实事;是顾及到实际情况,是为了长久大计等不一而足。关於讨论秦桧的文字实在太多了,但多半是依据宋人的记载,或者最低也是站在以宋为正统观念上的。现在我们不妨再从当时
