内蒙包头白云鄂博矿是特大型铁、稀土、钍、铌多元素共生矿,是我国主要稀土来源。白云矿资源利用中的放射性污染防治问题引起了广泛的关注,为落实徐光宪院士等15位科学家联名向国务院提交的《关于保护白云鄂博钍和稀土资源,避免黄河和包头受放射性污染的紧急呼吁》,由中国原子能科学研究院,内蒙古包头市辐射环境管理处、卫生部疾病控制中心辐射防护研究与医学研究所等单位共同完成对包头及白云鄂博地区所受剂量调查。
Inner Mongolia Baotou Bayan Obo mine is a large iron, rare earth, thorium, niobium multi-element symbiotic mine, is China’s main source of rare earths. The issue of prevention and control of radioactive pollution in utilization of resources in Baiyun Mine has drawn wide attention. In order to implement the “Urgent Call for Protection of Bayan Oerbo, Thorium and Rare Earth Resources, and Avoidance of Radioactive Pollution of the Yellow River and Baotou” jointly submitted by 15 scientists such as Xu Guangxian to the State Council, The survey of doses to Baotou and Bayan Obo regions was conducted jointly by China Institute of Atomic Energy, Radiation Environment Management Office of Baotou City of Inner Mongolia and Radiation Protection Research and Medical Research Institute of Disease Control Center of Ministry of Health.
