西方各国由于出版体制不同,出版社旋生旋灭、生生灭灭的情况十分普遍,保存这些分散的记录很不容易,但他们自有一套完整的行之有效的办法。一些大的老牌出版公司自不待言,十分注重历史资料的保存、积累和传统的延续,就是零散的小公司,由于网络的联通,资讯的发达以及行业团体的向心力作用,保存的资料也相当丰富可观。这些资料对于研究现代传媒及相关的问题往往是不可或缺的。
