There is one Kaschin-Beck disease belt and two non-disease belts in China.This disease is closely related to the natural environment.According to the natural features of disease areas,the environment can be divided into eight groups and merged into three types.Selenium content in the environment of affected areas is lower than that in non-disease areas.Low level of selenium in the environment is a basic causation of Kaschin-Beck disease,while some other factors must be taken into account.
