In April 1949, the People’s Liberation Army occupied Nanjing. An unexpected event happened: Ambassador Stuart, the ambassador of the United States to China, did not go to Guangzhou with the Kuomintang government. He stayed and waited for contacts with the Chinese communists. Not long afterward, Stuart contacted the Chinese Communist Party delegate, who was then a student at Yenching University, contacted Huang Hua, raised the request for a visit to Peiping, and obtained our consent. However, Stuart Roden was called back to the United States for failing to do so due to stubborn anti-Communist stance of U.S. policymakers. History here pass, it is a bit confusing. This issue is divided into three issues of “history passed - the eve of the founding of New China, the United States secret contact with us,” a text to help readers understand the inside story.
