高橙是温岭县特有的地方品种,嘉靖《太平县志》已有记载,迄今至少有四百年的栽培历史。通过调查,我们初步认为它是酸橙×宽皮桔或柚类的自然杂交种,由于长期的自然杂交与人工选育,其品系比较复杂,果品质量差异悬殊。群众通常将果形较高、大小中等(单果重0.6—0.8斤左右)、风味较好的品系称作高橙,它是当地柑桔类主栽品种之一。现全县已有三万多株成年结果树,年产量上万担,主要由社员在房前屋后零星种植,其中年产量在1000斤以上的农户有50多户。近年来已成片种植,目前正处
