Liriomyza huidobrensis, also known as Liriomyza huidobrensis, is a quarantine pest infesting many vegetables and ornamental plants. It belongs to Diptera, Agromyzidae, Liriomyza ). At the beginning of 1995, Kunming Animal and Plant Quarantine Bureau intercepted the imported agricultural products at the Yunnan port. If the insect came to our country, it would cause heavy losses to our country’s agriculture and seriously affect the export of agricultural products in China. In the United States, the quarantine of imported agricultural products caused the insects to spread to California and then to several other states, seriously affecting local agricultural production. The first Latin American leafminers were found in Argentina and were considered as insects belonging to the New North Zone or the New Tropics only in the early 1980s. The adults use oviparous eggs to lay their eggs on the leaves. The hatched larvae in the leaves feed on the mesophyll, causing the leaves to produce tunnels that affect the photosynthesis of the plants, causing the leaves to wilt, resulting in reduced production of crops, declining quality of agricultural products, and even death of whole plants.
