The Turn of the Screw, created in 1954, is an example of the interior opera of Benjamin Britten (1913-1976). The play is based on Henry James’s novel The Turn of the Screw. At the beginning of publication in 1898, “Step by Step Press” immediately established an artistic style of melodramatic melodrama, a ghost story involving innocence and degradation, possession, and exorcism ③. After the book was written by M. Piper as a script, Britten completed opera music in 1954 and directed by himself to perform on November 14 of the same year
