我是云南土生土长的摄影师,1942年出生,自学摄影二十多年了。我最近几年拍摄的一组“云南山里人”系列照片,获1997美国国际琼斯母亲基金纪实摄影奖。纽约国际摄影中心(ICP)邀请我在ICP精品画廊展出这组“云南山里人”,使我这个连英文字母都不认识的云南山里人,首次飞越太平洋来到纽约。 到了纽约,我突然变成一个既聋又哑的“残疾人”,与美国朋友见面只会微笑点头,就连“您好”,“谢谢”这类最普通的英语都不会。还好我随身带着一架Nikon FMI
I am a native Yunnan photographer, born in 1942, self-study photography for more than 20 years. In recent years, I shot a series of “Yunnan Shanren” series of photos, won the 1997 United States International Jones Mother Fund Documentary Photography Award. The New York International Photographic Center (ICP) invited me to exhibit this group of “Yunnan Shanren” in the ICP Fine Art Gallery so that I could make my first flight across the Pacific to New York City. When I arrived in New York, I suddenly became a “deaf person” who was deaf and dumb. When I met American friends, I could only smile and nodded. Even the most common English like “hello” and “thank you” did not. Fortunately, I carry a Nikon FMI with me
