Zirconium alloys are used in the nuclear industry because of their good core properties and corrosion resistance. With the development of nuclear reactors to high fuel consumption, corrosion resistance of zirconium alloys is increasingly demanding. One of the ways to improve the corrosion resistance is ion implantation. Ion implantation can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of the material, but does not affect the stability of the physical and mechanical properties of the material. A university scholar in China using yttrium ion implantation
