Zheng Ziren (Second Artillery Engineering Research Institute): On the launch of strategic missiles in the Soviet Union and the United States This article reviews the evolution of strategic missile launchers in the following six areas: 1. From ground to underground; 2. From underground reinforcement to Super-reinforcement underground wells; 3. from the silos to deep; 4. maneuvering land to sea by sea-air maneuvering; 5. launching from heat to cold launch; 6. maneuvering into space. This paper introduces the characteristics and improvement process of the launch modes in each period, including the launch of the underground wells in the early stage and the launching methods of the space station started in recent years, which is of some reference value to the designers of strategic missiles.
