Many particulate drug carriers that have emerged in recent years are mostly used for intravenous administration, such as Nanoparticles and Microparticles. Once inside the bloodstream, the particles are conditioned and phagocytosed by the macrophages of the reticuloendothelial system (RES). Despite the efforts to avoid this conditioning to prolong the half-life of the particles in the circulation, there is currently no method to prevent the localization of the particles in the reticuloendothelial system. Therefore, particulate carriers are often used as carriers for delivering drugs to the reticuloendothelial system macrophages. Macrophages are important cells of the immune system and can exert certain regulatory functions when stimulated, for example by foreign particles. And macrophages can also effectively phagocytose the antigen
