当代的文明对话虽取得了可喜的进展,但仍步履维艰。其中一个重要原因是第一次启蒙这一“没有他者的启蒙”在作祟。在西方中心主义强势主导的第一次启蒙的框架下,文明之间真正平等的对话是不可能的。而以尊重他者为核心价值观的第二次启蒙则为不同文明之间的平等对话开辟了广阔的空间,它不仅有助于我们清除中西文明对话之路上的重重障碍,深化文明对话,而且因着它对生态启蒙的标举,有助于我们发展一种共情主义的普世情感,在此基础上建设一种共情的生态文明,从而将地球和人类从生态危机中解救出来,这应是文明对话在生态文明时代的新使命。
Although the progress of the dialogue among civilizations has made gratifying progress, it is still struggling. One of the important reasons for this is the fact that the first enlightenment of this “enlightenment without others” is causing trouble. Under the framework of the first enlightenment led by the strong Western centralism, genuinely equal dialogue among civilizations is impossible. The second enlightenment, in which the respect of the other is the core value, has opened up a vast space for equal dialogue among civilizations. It not only helps us to clear the many obstacles on the road to dialogue between China and the West and deepen the dialogue among civilizations. With its enunciation of ecological enlightenment, it helps us to develop a universal feeling of empathy. On the basis of this, we can build a kind of empathic ecological civilization so as to save Earth and mankind from the ecological crisis. It should be the new mission of civilized dialogue in the era of ecological civilization.
