清营凉血法的代表方药,多用于温病,颇有奇效。若用于杂病,也有奇效。温病有热入营血的辨症。用清营、凉血、散血、解毒的方法,治疗壮热、神昏、谵语、肢厥、斑疹、出血等症,理论正确,确有疗效。但是,《金匮》在论述杂病辨证之时,早有“热过于营”、“热伤血脉”、“极热伤络”、“热之所过,血为之凝滞”的理论。这是从营血辨杂病之高论。所以,用清营、凉血、散血、解毒的方法,治疗杂病的心热,烦燥、失眠、心悸、头痛、眩晕、头目皆胀、面红目赤、丹毒、出血、唇舌紫红等症,亦获奇效。这些杂病无壮热神昏、肢厥症,故非温病。这些杂病,若不用清营凉血法治疗,亦久治不能取效,用清营凉血法治疗,就有奇效。说明其病为热伤营血之杂病。
