This article mainly studies the Liao Dynasty Buddhist cultural heritage in Inner Mongolia. Buddhism was initially introduced by the Han and Bohai people into the Liao Dynasty. The Liao Dynasty not only supported the construction of the temple but also paid attention to the Buddhist cause. In the form of monks and lords favored by the Liao Dynasty, there were various forms of monks, except for the general royal monastery, the name of the monastery and the order of monks and nuns, as well as economic and political privileges to the monastic community. The Liao Dynasty ruler’s worship and buddhism policies greatly promoted the development of Buddhism in the private sector. The remains of Liao Dynasty Buddhist temples preserved in Inner Mongolia are numerous and are part of China’s splendid cultural heritage.
