Objective: To understand the mental health of patients before radiofrequency catheter ablation and the role of psychological intervention. Methods: A total of 138 patients undergoing elective radiofrequency catheter ablation were randomly divided into two groups. One was treated in 96 patients and the other was control in 42 patients. In the treatment group, 96 patients before radiofrequency catheter ablation were investigated by using self - rating symptom scale (SCL - 90). SAS and SDS were used to evaluate the clinical effect of 96 patients before radiofrequency catheter ablation Anxiety, depression, fear score change and its difference with 42 cases of control group. Results: The SCL - 90 survey showed that the main psychological problems of 96 patients before radiofrequency ablation were anxiety (38), fear (36), somatization (28), and their scores Were higher than the domestic norm (2 10 ± 0 6 0vs 1 39 ± 0 4 3,2 0 3 ± 0 6 3vs 1 5 0 ± 0 5 9,2 2 1 ± 0 6 0vs 1 2 3 ± 0 4 1,2 18 ± 0 5 3vs1 37 ± 0 48, P <0 01). The interpersonal relationship (25 cases) was 2 10 ± 0 48 vs 1 65 ± 0 51, P 0 05. After psychological intervention, anxiety, depression and fear scores of patients decreased significantly compared with those before intervention (4 3 2 4 ± 7 2 8vs4 8 6 8 ± 9 35,4 0 12 ± 60 8vs 4 6 44 ± 7 6 5,4 1 30 ± 6 2 5vs 4 5 6 5 ± 8 4 5, P <0 01), while there was no significant difference between the two groups in the control group. Conclusion: Patients with radiofrequency ablation have obvious psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, fear, somatization, interpersonal relationship and so on.
