养路现代化,是实现公路现代化的一个重要组成部分。因此,公路养护战线上,必须要有一支懂得公路建设技术,掌握养路知识的熟练技术工人队伍。目前养路工人队伍的基本情况是:绝大多数文化水平低、年龄大、人员少,技术差,有的道班连找一个能搞统计工作的人都选不出来。由于文化水平低,缺乏公路养护常识和公路工程基本知识,有的养路工人,分不清桥、涵,弯道处不知道如何加宽和超高,路面上的病害分析不出产生的原因,连最简单的油石比都不会计算。如以这支养路队伍,来实现养路现代化是有很大困难的。
