It has been estimated that between 94 million and 220 million people around the world are at risk of consuming drinking water that contain arsenic concentrations higher than 10μg/L (Podgorski and Berg,2020),the World Health Organization (WHO) guideline level. The vast majority (94%) of the population at risk are in Southeast Asia(Uppal et al.,2019a;Yan,2020),although there are also concerns over water arsenic in rural communities in many parts of the world.
