苏曼殊,清末民初诗人、作家、画家、翻译家。擅语言学,精通多国语言。在翻译英文诗歌方面建树颇高,认为诗歌翻译在乎气体,辞气相副是最难得的。本文将通过对苏曼殊翻译的一些诗词及其相关的文章的剖析,分析苏曼殊的诗歌翻译思想。作为优秀的诗歌翻译家,他认为诗歌译者应具备以下几个条件:第一,译者要精通两国文字;第二,翻译时要“按文切理,事辞相称”;第三,诗歌的译文与原文要在格律上相似以求辞气相副。
